First Prize: Optimization of Lower Structure for Circulating Fluidized Bed Wing Panels
Faced with long lead times and difficult welding of high-grade flat steel, this project re-engineered the wing panel design—replacing full membrane walls with intermittent flat steel connections—and introduced semi-automatic stud welding. The result? A 50% reduction in manufacturing cycle time per unit, significant release of skilled welder capacity, and enhanced structural reliability with fewer reworks.
Second Prize: Standardized Tube Procurement Initiative
By shifting from traditional 12-meter fixed-length purchases to a “maximum design length + 100mm” strategy, this initiative streamlined procurement, reduced material waste, and accelerated production. Key wins include a 2-week reduction in production cycle time per order, material utilization soaring to 96.8%, and a simplified procurement system now institutionalized as a standard operating procedure across departments.
Third Prize: Manufacturing Process Improvement for Air Distributor Beds
This project tackled lengthy assembly-weld cycles and excessive correction work by rethinking the entire fabrication sequence. Implementing a “assemble large panels first, then weld” approach combined with flexible alignment techniques eliminated inconsistent panel deformation—boosting single-unit efficiency by 25% and virtually eliminating post-assembly adjustments.
ForthPrize: Digitalization of Material Reinspection Workflow
Replacing paper-based processes with a fully digital system, this project automated the entire reinspection workflow—from request submission to report generation and notification—integrated with the QMS “Quality Cerification Container ” platform. Outcomes include an 80% boost in process efficiency, over 900 digital requests and 2,500 reports generated, and seamless electronic archiving with real-time access to material certificates.
FifthPrize: First-of-its-Kind Manufacturing of HuiNeng Hot Blast Stove Dome
Confronting the extreme challenge of fabricating an ultra-large-diameter (Φ8400mm) drum under tight spatial constraints, the team engineered a novel “seesaw-style” self-positioning drilling jig and adopted laser-cut alignment plates with submerged arc automatic welding. This breakthrough ensured high-precision segment matching and saved an impressive8,075.35 labor hoursthrough automation.
