On July 14, Jintang’s “Craftsman Camp” skilled worker empowerment program, themed “Skilled Laborers Lead Technical Modernization; Four Camps Unite to Fuel Industrial Expansion”, officially kicked off at Jianlong SCBC. Hosted by the Jintang County Federation of Labor Unions, the event received guidance from Pan Deng, Vice Chair of the Jintang County People’s Congress Standing Committee, and Peng Lihong, Deputy Director of the Economic Protection Division at the Chengdu Federation of Labor Unions. More than 70 guests attended the launch, including Yue Peiyong, Party Secretary and Executive Vice Chair of the county labor union, alongside representatives from county government departments, local manufacturers, model workers, and master craftsmen. Attendees gathered to exchange insights on craftsmanship-led innovation and industrial advancement.
Before the opening ceremony, guests toured three model-worker innovation centers at Jianlong SCBC: the Tang Chengfeng Welding Technology Center, Liu Xianquan Smart Manufacturing Center, and Wen Yanyan Nondestructive Testing Center. They got an up-close look at on-site technical upgrades stemming from the “Five Minor Innovation” initiative, and reviewed core workflows including precision machining and intelligent equipment commissioning. The tour highlighted the plant floor workforce’s meticulous, solution-focused mindset, as well as Jianlong SCBC’s consistent track record of breakthroughs in technical R&D and process refinement over the years.
During the ceremony, Chen Maoyi, Executive Deputy General Manager and Union Chair of Jianlong SCBC, shared the company’s real-world practices for technical innovation, process improvement, and skilled workforce cultivation. Innovation has long served as the firm’s core growth engine, with teams targeting persistent production bottlenecks and technical modernization hurdles. By steadily building dedicated platforms for craftsmen’s R&D and refining its talent training system, Jianlong SCBC has created a scalable “Jintang Model” that other local manufacturers can replicate.
Yue Peiyong walked the audience through the full framework of the “Craftsman Camp,” which operates under a “unique brand for each camp” development strategy. The program zeroes in on three key priorities: innovative research and development, workforce training, and industrial advancement. It empowers businesses through union-backed support and builds a new collaborative framework for joint innovation among model workers and master craftsmen.
The ceremony included formal flag handoffs, official certificate presentations, and a master-apprentice matching ritual, which finalized the formal organizational framework of the Craftsman Camp. This mentorship model lets seasoned master craftsmen pass down hands-on expertise to younger staff, creating a steady, sustainable pipeline of skilled labor for Jintang County.
Launching the Craftsman Camp at Jianlong SCBC stands as a major acknowledgment from the county labor union of the company’s outstanding track record in technical innovation and talent development. Moving forward, Jianlong SCBC will leverage its Craftsman Academy and the four Craftsman Camp platforms to advance joint technical problem-solving and process innovation.
